Graduation Series
& Tiger Cup
Graduation Series is an opportunity for older U8 boys and U8 girls who will be moving up to the U10 division in 2008. The graduation series is designed to give players and parents an introduction to competitive play, while still primarily promoting fun, sportsmanship and individual development.
The series consists of Tiger Cup and a series of 6 games played against other Region 214 teams. The series is open to ALL players who meet the eligibility criteria, The Grad Series is NOT an All-Star experience as there are no “selections” made, and no team standings are kept. The focus is on fun and individual development in preparation for U10.
Eligibility: (1) must be eligible to play in U10 next season; (2) must meet the 70% Rule for regular season participation; and (3) participate in Tiger Cup.
Tiger Cup: Tiger Cup is the registration and evaluation day required to participate in the Graduation Series. The primary goal is player evaluation so balanced teams can be formed. Please contact your division coach if a player cannot attend Tiger Cup but still wants to participate.
Tiger Cup: Sunday, December 2nd, 2007, 2-4pm, South Pasadena Middle School.
Team Formation/Practices: Following Tiger Cup, the Grad Series coaches will form balanced teams and notify players around mid-December, 2007. Practices will be once per week at the same U8 regular season time of 4-5pm. Practices can begin immediately following team formation.
Games: Games will be held on Sunday afternoons between January 6th and February 10th, 2008, at South Pasadena Middle School.
Cost: The Registration Fee is $50 which includes a Region 214 Graduation Series sweatshirt and uniform (to be kept by the player). Please pay the registration fee on Tiger Cup Sunday.
Referees: Each team will be required to provide one Referee for each game. Players with a parent coach or referee will be given priority if a waiting list is needed.
