2024-2025 AYSO EXTRA TRYOUTS ANNOUNCED

This is the final tryout opportunity for the Region 214 EXTRA program

WHERE: South Pasadena Middle School

What to Bring:
Soccer ball, shin-guards and water

2016 (U9): 8:00AM to 9:30AM
2015 (U10)9:45AM to 11:15AM

***Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the tryout for check-in***  

What to expect at tryouts?
Tryouts will consist of:
Warm up/Individual skills evaluation including Dribbling/Passing/Control/Finishing/GoalKeeping
Small sided games
Large field game

What is EXTRA: A COMPETITIVE PROGRESSIVE PLAYER PROGRAM - designed for players who have the interest, skills, abilities, and commitment to enhance their soccer experience while retaining the spirit of AYSO.


AYSO Region 214 is offering a Side-by-Side EXTRA™ Program which will run from August through February - including a regular season, league playoffs and tournaments.  Selected EXTRA™ players are NOT eligible for the Core Fall Season, All-Stars nor can be registered on a Club Soccer Roster.


EXTRA™ Program games will be played on Saturdays and/or Sundays throughout AYSO Section 1.  Approximately half of the games will be played on Region 214 fields and the remainder throughout AYSO Section 1 (primarily Los Angeles County).  All players are guaranteed to play at least 50% of each game in regular season play.

Program Expectations

    1. Player Development
    2. Parent and Player Commitment
      1. Attendance at 2 practices a week
      2. Attendance at games
      3. Commitment to tournaments
      4. Parent Volunteer Commitment (10 Hours per family and will take the AYSO Safe Haven, Concussion Training and the appropriate certification courses for the selected volunteer position)

What it takes to form an EXTRA Team

    1. Head Coach with appropriate certifications
    2. Assistant Coach with appropriate certifications
    3. Referees (4+) with the appropriate certifications
      1. Each referee commits to a (minimum) of 18 Total Games and badge upgrade
        1. - 12+ Region 214 Core/EXTRA matches
        2. - 6+ EXTRA Tournament matches
    4. Team Manager
    5. Tournament Team Manager

Cost

    1. AYSO National Membership Fee
    2. AYSO Region 214 Fall Registration Fee
    3. AYSO Region 214 EXTRA Fee (TBD) (which will be paid completely by July 16)
      1. (2) Full Uniforms
      2. Team apparel and equipment
      3. (2) Tournaments
      4. Team Trainer
      5. Administrative Costs (e.g., yearly tryouts, EXTRA program fees)

Other Tryout Information
- YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR CHILD TO PARTICIPATE. Anyone who shows up and is not registered will not be allowed to participate. LOGIN at AYSO214.ORG and select the program titled "EXTRA 2024-2025". There is no cost to tryout.
- Players will ONLY be allowed to tryout with and participate in programs within their own birth year. NO EXCEPTIONS!
